My Best Buddy - Nikita

At School, I have a best friend named Nikita. Nikita and I always hang out together. We either play handball with our friends or just talk and play hand games. Nikita and I first became friends this year.

Nikita is my best friend in class. I also have other friends as well. They are my best friends but Nikita is the closest to me. My other friends are Jordan, Iisa, Helen and Leila.

When we first started school I never knew Nikita, but now Nikita and I are best friends. We normally just sat in front of each other and weren’t talking to each other but now, we do.

I think Nikita is one of my best friends in my class. We always talk to each other and never be mad at each other. We maybe do, but only sometimes.

My Weekend!

To end off a great week at school, our class got to play sports outside again. We played ball tiggy. First, the boys were getting the girls. Then, we swapped.

Later that day, I went to a birthday party at Lollypop land. If you want to find out what happened. Read the post before this one.

On Saturday, I was going to my aunt's house for 2 days. On Saturday, we were going to a Christmas party at my aunt’s friends house with my aunt and cousin. First we went to Kmart to get gifts for secret santa. Then we went to dunkin Donuts.

When that was done, we went home to eat the donuts and wrap the presents. The gifts were for 2 big kids and 1 little kid. Once everything was done, we went to countdown to get food for the party. My aunty was making cheese cob and she also bought a cooked chicken.

After countdown, it was time to go to the party. When we arrived there were a flot of kids and adults. While we were there, the adults were preparing lunch and the kids were just playing.

Outside was a big deck. Everyone was sitting there while they were eating. The owners of the house also made punch for everyone to drink. But they had a bucket filled with ice and drinks.

Next, it was time for secret santa. My aunt’s friends boyfriend dressed up as santa and pretending to be him. Everyone knew it wasn’t the real santa, but…. When santa called out my name and my cousin and brother, we knew that we were getting a present.

When I opened my present I received a variety of presents. I got a toy that spills around, a flexible face, jelly and a colourful snowman. I liked my presents. Sadly, santa had to leave and the kids just carried on playing and having fun.

Sadly, we had to go around about the time 7.00pm because we had to go to my aunt’s job. She was going there because she had to project to do with her team.

Once we arrived at her job, it was about 8.00pm. While my aunt was working, my cousin and I were either playing pool, table tennis or foosball. We had a lot of fun. When My aunt finished working it was 12.30 in the morning. Everyone was getting tired and just wanted to sleep.

When we arrived at home it was 5 to 1 in the morning. We all just wanted to sleep. We didn’t end up  going to sleep till 2am. We all just wanted to have a sleep in the next morning.

On Sunday, I woke up at 11.30 and so did my cousin. My brother and aunt woke up earlier than that. My aunt said that we were going to relax. We did and we were all still in our pjs till we had to go home.

Happy Birthday Tumaia!

Today, at 5.00pm is my cousins birthday. My cousin is turning 1 years old and he is celebrating his birthday at Lollypop land or Chipmunks. Knowing that I am 11 years of age, I am not going to play on playland, I am just going to be supervising my brother.

We haven’t gone yet but I will tell you the experience later.

Experience:
When I arrived at Lollypop land, there were children playing everywhere. There was also my aunty and uncle there as well. The parents of the birthday boy. Incase you didn’t know, it was my cousin Tumaia’s Birthday.

After a little while at the playland, the parents had set up that tables and food and the kids were just playing. At the playland was a Ball Pit, A big slide, Jungle gym and much more.

While we were playing, the parents said over the intercom “Come and eat” and we all gathered together. There was pizza, strawberries with chocolate, chips, drinks and more.

After everyone finished eating, most of the kids started playing again. The parents of the kids were just watching the kids and the kids were playing. My brother was sweating up a storm, so he had to have a shower.

“Time for cake” said Tumaia’s mum. Everyone gathered to sing Happy Birthday and to blow out the cake. Everyone sang and Tumaia and some kids blew out the candles. “ Happy Birthday Tumaia” everyone shouted.

Sadly the day came an end. Everyone was tired and just wanted to go home. Before we left, we said goodbye to everyone. On our way out the parents were giving out goodie bags. In them were lots of good treats.

Te Tuhi Trip

Today, our class was going to the Te Tuhi Gallery in Pakuranga. We were going to the gallery because the topic is ‘Art Attack’ for the term and, we went there for some inspiration.

We were leaving school at 9.45 and we would arrive back at school around the time 11.45. When we arrived at the gallery this guy named ‘ Jeremy’ was our instructor for that time. He was going to be taking us through everything that we do throughout the morning.

First, Jeremy told us what we were going to do. We were going to be making Tapa in the art room and then visit different galleries. Off we went to make tapa.

We had to grab an apron and sit down at a table with a piece of paper in front of us. Our first task was to grapple up our paper and then Jeremy told us the next instruction. Next, we had to colour in the 4 squares on our paper with pastel. We used a red pastel to colour in the squares.

Now it was time for dye. We had to use dye to cover all of our paper. The dye makes the tapa look old and unique. When we finished using the dye we had to put the tapa on the stairs to dry, then get other tapas that were already dry. Next, we had to draw symbols in the 4 squares on our paper.

Once we drawn our symbols, we had to use a red pastel to colour in the background of our squares. Jeremy said that we had to colour the squares by colouring the corners. Not side by side or up and down. Then, we had to use brown paint for the other corners. Once we finished painting and colouring in our tapa was finished. Some of our tapa designs look nice but some didn’t.

My Weekend!!

To finish off a great week at school, our school had a wacky hair day and a Mufti Day. Our whole school dressed up in mufti clothes and either wearing a wig or doing fancy styles on there hair.

On Saturday, my family and I were going to Pt Chev for my mums work function. When we arrived at Pt Chev, we were waiting for everyone to show up,  but the function was over.

So, we ended up going to the hospital to visit my cousin, Caleb. My cousin is one sick baby, so we went to go visit him. When we entered the hospital my aunt and uncle were waiting for us in Room 18. We stayed for about 1 hour and then we left.

When we left the hospital, my family and I went to Pakuranga Night Markets. The markets started at 6.00pm so we just waited till then. When the clock struck 5.45pm my family and I started walking to the market.

At the market was a lot of different types of food. There was Asian food, Samoan food, chinese food and many many more. There was also different types of deserts as well. There were waffles, ice cream, pancakes and much more.

On Sunday morning, I woke up at 8.20. I was sleepy, I just went from my bed to the couch. I was fast asleep on the couch and I was so glad I had a decent amount of sleep. While I was asleep, my brother and dad went to the markets at the AMI netball carpark.

When I woke up I had kebabs and donuts waiting for me. I was just lying on the couch while eating kebabs and donuts. When I finished eating, I just relaxed and watched tv. I wanted to play outside but my friends weren’t outside so, I didn’t go.

Overall, I had a fun weekend with my family. It was good that I got to spend quality time with my family. Normally, we just stay home but we went out somewhere last weekend.

Future Aspirations!

Brainstorm:
To Miharo Hoki
You are Amazing

Future
Career
Inspiration
Andrew Patterson
Amelia Unufe - Fashion Label/ I have a Dream
Paula Fakalata - Helps students with problems
Anthony Samuels - What Now Show.
Inspire!
------------------------------

Hook: Today, we had a very exciting surprize for us at school.

At 9.25 today all of the senior school had to assemble in the street because 4 inspiring people were coming in. There names were Paula Fakalata, Amelia Unufe, Anthony Samuels and Andrew Patterson. They were coming in to talk to us about our future aspirations.

First up to speak was, Anthony Samuels. Anthony used to be on the show ‘ What Now’ many years ago. Like in the year 1995 to 2005. He was talking to us about ‘To Miharo Hoki’. Which means ‘ You are Amazing’. Anthony was also talking about 1 phrase and 1 key. The phrase was ‘Your past does not have to determine your future’.

Next to speak was, Paula Fakalata. Paula was talking about how you should always do your best and never give up. Paula was also telling us a story about when he was a young boy. The story was about him and how he went to a swimming championship and nearly died. It was a really surprising story.

Now it was time for, Amelia Unufe to speak. Amelia is in her 2nd year completing a bachelor of design. She is also majoring in fashion at AUT University. Amelia also was part of the “I have a Dream” programme. When she was there she got a lot of support from a range of different people.

Amelia was also was telling us that we she was in primary people thought the negative side of her instead of the positive side. People were telling her that she wouldn’t go anywhere because she was in the lowest class at school. But now, she is on her way to get a fashion label and a degree.

To end off a great morning, our senior school sang the school song ‘ Mihi Mai ra’ and Isara and Gloria said thank yous to the inspiring people. When we finished singing, the students were sent back to class and the inspiring people left.

My Wonderful Weekend...!

To end of a great day of the week, our class got the opportunity to go outside for sports on a Friday afternoon. We got to play all types of sports. Like, volleyball, touch, netball and many more sports. When the 3.00 o’clock bell went school was finished and the weekend had began.

On Saturday, my family and I were planning to have a family day out. We decided to go out after my mum had a decent amount of sleep. While she was sleeping, my brother and were playing outside with our next door neighbours. There names are Ethan, Rikki - Jo and Kalani.

When my mum woke up we all went to Onehunga pools. But, unfortunately it was a change for plans. My mum and dad decided not to go to the pools because they were too tired so, we just went back home. When we got home, my mum and dad just relaxed and my brother and I played outside.

On Sunday, my mum had won tickets for a breakfast at AMI netball a few days before and we went to the breakfast on Sunday. When we got to the cafe, we got to choose what we wanted for breakfast. My mum and dad got 2x big breakfast, I got eggs benedict with bacon, and my brother got a scone and bagels with cream cheese and jam. Overall, all of our meals we tasty and delicious.

When that was done, we all decided to go to the markets that was just 2 minutes away for the cafe. My mum brought veggies and my dad brought a load of strawberries. My dad brought 5 bunches and my mum brought 5 bunches so, we had 10 bunches overall.

We finally arrived at home and, my mum had a great idea. She said for my brother and I to wash the car. Wash the car for money of course. I would get $10 from my mum for washing her car and, $5 from my dad for washing his car. While we were out there washing the car, my brother and I decided to get wet under the hose in our togs.

My brother and I, washed the cars. But then, we got to play with water. My mum filled up my brothers little bath and my brother sat in it. But for me, I got wet under the hose. My mum sprayed me with the hose and I was get wet. It was a fun play with the water.

When we finished washing the car and having fun with water, my mum make my brother and I strawberries and cream. My brother and I were just sitting on the front step scoffing our mouth with cream and delicious red fresh strawberries.

Overall, I had a wonderful weekend (like my title says). I think it was the best weekend I had with my family. My highlight of my weekend was having fun with water.

Thurday Night Market

Yesterday night was the night that my dad, brother and I went to the Night Markets Underneath Dressmart. If you don’t know what the night markets are well, it is when people are holding stores at night in a car park underneath shops in Auckland suburbs.

When I found out that we were going to the night market I was so overwhelmed and so was my brother. We were going to the night markets with my aunty and my cousins. We were leaving at 8.00pm to go to the night markets and will arrive at 8.30pm.

After we arrived at the night markets, the car park was filled with people and stores. Wherever we looked we could only see people and stores. And smell the different types of food that was there. There was asian food, chinese food, samoan food, sweet food and many many more.

While we were walking around the markets we could smell food, and that was making us hungry. We walked to the best BBQ place there and it smelled delicious. You could just smell the smell of marinaded meat and big beef burgers. My dad and auntie brought to BBQ plates and I brought a lil mama burger.

After all of our food was sorted, my cousin decided to go and play this game where you have to through a ring over a prize and if you get it over, you get the prize. My cousin and I didn’t do that well. I tried to get the head buds and so did my cousin. In the end we both failed and we just got a soft drink each.

When we finished playing the game, we all decided to go back to the car and eat. While we were eating my burger tasted really nice. With all of the bacon, the pattie and the sauces, the burger tasted good. The BBQ also tasted good as well. Especially the potato and pasta salad.

Sadly, the night came to an end and we had to go back home. Overall, I think that night was fun and especially really packed with people. I  think whenever you go to a night market, I recommend to get a churro or try BBQ that you see.

Athletics Day - Part 2

Our next rotation after relays was The Skipping race. All we had to do was skip to the first cone and back. When that was accomplished, we got to have a little fun with the skipping ropes. We got to do skipping and play over the moon with the ropes.

After The Skipping race we had to do the ladders and hurdles race. When we did the race we had to run through the ladders and the jump over the hurdles. Then, we had to race. The first team to complete the course had won.

When we had finished the ladders and hurdles, our next rotation was Shot Put. When we did shot put there we two male helpers that were helping us to throw the shot put properly and how to throw it. When I through it, I didn’t do that well. In 1st place was Ata, 2nd place Jordenne and in 3rd place was Iron.

After Shot Put it was time for lunch. Lunch was only 30 minutes long so we would have enough time to do rotations. A little bit of time for lunch. When lunch was over the girls and I was going to do High Jump. In high jump I am a right hand writer so I ran with my right leg. Unfortunately I didn’t make the top 3 but, In first place was Jordenne, 2nd place was Asena and in 3rd place was Mua.

When high jump was finished our next rotation was sprints. When we did sprints we had to run 50m and then 100m. I didn’t run because of a knee injury but the other girls ran. Jordenne and Josephine came a placing and so did Janise. I don’t know what placing they got.

Sprints was the last rotation. Today, we are going to be finishing off rotations we didn't do on Friday. I will write about that soon!

Athletics Day - Part 1

Athletics is a 1 day or more filled with sports during that time. If you didn't know what athletics is well, now you know.

On Friday the 14th of November was the day that our School Athletics was held. Every year there is a athletics day held on the field. This year was the 2014 athletics day and I am going to be telling you about the experience.

First, our whole school started the day off with assembly. It started off like a normal Friday. After assembly the school had at least 30 minutes of class time till morning tea. Morning was at 10.30. A little bit earlier than usual.

After morning tea was when athletics had began. The gear was all set up on the field and every student at the school had to make there way to the hard courts. Once everyone was assembled Mr Burt said the prayer and then athletics had started.
All of the students were split into different year groups. So, I was in the Year 7 girls group and I competed with the year 7 girls. And same went for the other students as well.

Our first rotation was softball throw. If you don’t know what softball throw is well it is really simple. You just have to throw a softball a far distance to win. I was up first to throw and I didn't do that well. I only got the ball to the third cone. So……

Next rotation was relays. In relays you had to run with a swim noodle to the first cone and then run back. After we ran with the noodle we had to run with the baton. This time we had to run to the second cone and then come back. The first team with everyone that ran then you would win.

To be continued!

Thank You Shantna!

Dear Shantna,

I would just like to thank you for coming on the trip to the museum. Without you we wouldn’t have gone. You are a very helpful and independent person.

I really liked you being our groups parent helper. You were very helpful on the trip and you were very very funny. In our group you were the one that made us laugh the most. I know we were on a school trip and we were supposed to focus but can I say you were a funny person on the trip.

On the trip I really liked the way that everyone listened to you, sometimes. Besides the girls running down the stairs and the boys wandering off we were a pretty good group especially with you as our parent helper.

Shantna, for the final time I would just like to thank you again for coming on the trip. You were a very helpful person and again if it wasn’t for you we wouldn’t have gone to the museum because there wouldn't have been enough helpers unlike you.

Thank You Very Much!!

Yours Sincerely,
Rave..!

Made up Story - Narrative.

Once upon a time there was a girl named Emma and she is a talented story writer. Emma loves to write and to showcase stories to the world. She loves to write stories about adventures and comedies.

One day Emma went to the supermarket and buy some products. Then, she saw a flyer that said “ Looking for a new United States of America, Auditions are soon” the dates were on the bottom of the flyer. And Emma thought to herself “ I could be the president”.

Later that day, Emma was wondering to herself “ When is the auditions?” So, she went to the White House and she said to the guards “ I am here for the auditions”. And the guards said “ Come on in”. So, Emma went in for the auditions.

When she walked into the White House gates she was amazed. She had seen things that she had never seen before. When she enter the White House she was more amazed by the sculptures and statues.

Then, she saw the president. The president was all ill and not feeling well. Emma thought to herself “ No wonder way they are looking for a new president”. The president is sick and might not be able to work anymore.

Anyway, the auditions had began. There was only one more person then it was Emma’s turn to show the president the best of her. She gave the audition her best shot and tried her hardest to get the spot. After all of the auditions they were going to announce the person that got the spot. “ The one that got the spot is Emma” said the president.

Emma was shocked. She thought that she wasn’t going to be president. But, she is. Emma was so happy though to be president. Now that she is president she was so happy. She got to go to meetings with the other presidents  and she was glad that she was the president.

The End.

How to Make My Own Marinated Chicken!

Ingredients:
Chicken Thighs
Soy Sauce
Honey
Balsamic Vinegar

Equipment:
Oven Tray
----------------

First, you get the oven tray and place the chicken thighs in it one by one. Then, when you have done that you get a cup and pour the soy sauce, honey and balsamic vinegar in it and stir for a little while.

When you have done that drizzle the marinade all over the chicken thighs. After you have done that use your hand to mix the marinade all over the chicken. When the chicken is covered with marinade put the oven try in the oven for 45 minutes on 180c.

While the chicken you can prepare a salad or a drink to go with your meal. You make a tropical drink and eat potato salad with your meal. It is your choice.

When it has been half the time you chicken has been in the oven, open the oven and turn the chickens to the other side of them. That will allow the whole thigh to be covered in marinade and taste amazing.

After the time is up get your chicken out of the oven and let it cool for a little bit till you eat. When you eat it you can plate your chicken up with a beautiful presentation or you can just do it the way you want to do it.

Now, I hope you know how to make/cook Marinated chicken. I hope you make it with your family and enjoy eating it as much as I did.

Writing Test Good Friends 2014 - Unedited

Brainstorm: Good Friends!
Friendship
Reliable
Caring
Always there for you
Friendly
Trustworthy
------------------------
Intro: A good friend is a person that is there for you when you are feeling hurt or sad. A good friend is someone that is always there for you when you need them. Good friends should be really caring for you whenever you need them or when they need you.

Para 1: A good friend is someone that is always there when you need them. Good friends should always rely on you whenever you are doing anything with anyone. Good friends are people that should tell you the right decisions and should never tell you to make the wrong decisions.

Para 2: A good friend is someone that you need to trust and they need to trust you. If your friend is someone that treats you like you are nothing to them, they shouldn’t be your friend. You should have friends that be friendly to you and is never mean to you.

Para 3: In friendship you need to have a friend that is trustworthy and kind. If you have a friend that is  to you, find a different person to be friends with. Your friends should be caring and reliable to you whenever you are feeling doubtful about anything.

Para 4: Good friends are people that treat you like you are a good friend to them. A bad friend is a person that is just your friend because you are rich and they don’t care about you they just care about your money.

Para 5: A good friend is someone that is there for you whenever you need them. If you are playing at the park and you see someone that is lonely, you should be a good friend and ask them if they want to come play with you. That is what a good friend does!

Para 6: Good friends are people that are loyal to you and your other friends. You can show that you are a good friendly person by showing them that you care about them and that you rely on them whenever they are doing something.

So, I got soy sauce, honey and balsamic vinegar and mixed it all up in a cup. Then, I drizzled the marinade all over the chicken. Then, I put it in the oven. The chicken tasted delicious. What is a Blog?

What is a Blog? Well, a blog is when someone can post anything they would want onto their blog. A blog when you can post things that you did or that someone else. You can just post anything you want to post.

On your blog you will need to create an account. When you make an account you can use Blogger, OverBlog and any other blog that you want to create.

When you create your blog you can discover how many posts you have done over the years. It all depends on when you created you blog though.

On your blog you can also choose the amount of blogs that you want. You can have a blog that is all about your life or you could have a blog that is about the world and what you want to write. It is your choice.
